Thank you! actually just from my presentation post I am learning a lot, and getting ready for the battle, already excited to combat those pests and see how it goes I don't know what I would prefer if I knew it before, for what Im learning about this rock ik fine with the Aiptasias, not sure about the vermetid snails, the previous owner said they are all dead, we will see, since the tank will have only few cleanup members and the zoas, I can try the calcium carbonate method if any left after manual cleanup, but still I can't see it in the picture, appreciate if someone can help pointing them out!Welcome… using the old rock will give you benefits, get you going quicker .. but also possible introduce longer term issues (like pests).
Definitely look into the pros and cons and make an informed choice on what you want to use. Using the old vs buying sterile rock to start off isn’t a right/wrong way to go, just make sure you know what your getting!

Thanks my friend! I have a hygger on the top right on all day random mode. Then in the right side I have a Nero 3 on random, alternating to pulse. With these two wave makers, I've found that I have flow throughout the tank. Behind the rocks definitely has less flow, but it's enough to move water and detritus. That was my hardest spot to flow for sure.Yours looks great!! Is the flow good behind those rocks?
If you've dropped a controller on your live rock bucket heater, you definitely have the right mindset for this hobby. That's awesome.Hey everyone!

I’m about to start my new reefing adventure and plan to begin cycling my tank this weekend — super excited about it! Hopefully I don’t mess things up too badly along the way
I’m planning to take things slowly once the cycle is done. Most of my equipment is second-hand, and the live rock I got also came used — one piece even seems to have some zoas on it (at least I think they’re zoas).
Can anyone help me confirm what they are?
Also, quick question — since the rocks came from an established tank, should I place them straight into the water without cycling? Would that give me an instant cycle, and will the zoas survive through it?
I'll make sure to keep you all posted on how everything goes!

Thank you so much!!
I checked the Australian Stripey, but I think my tank is too small for them, it's just 144l on the display +36l sump. That's why I thought on these shrimps, they can at least eat the small ones, and for the biggest I can use some lemon juice on them.
How did you recognize the vermetid snails? I cant see them in the picture.
I can remove them during the aquascape readiness, Is there any specific tool I need to remove them?
Welcome to the forums!Hey everyone!
