If you actually have ammonia in the tank that (ammonia) will kill them. Thanks for the replies. I have 2 clownfish in the tank, it won’t hurt them?
Interested. Where did the ammonia come from?Tank is running for 3 weeks as of yesterday. Testing for high ammonia and high nitrites, little to no nitrates. What should I do moving forward? Thanks
Oh.Thanks for the replies. I have 2 clownfish in the tank, it won’t hurt them?
I have had the pair for over 2 weeks. I was told the fish would help with the cycle. If you actually have ammonia in the tank that (ammonia) will kill them.
How long have you had them? What test kits are you using?
From the fish themselves and feedingInterested. Where did the ammonia come from?
Did you dose ammonia, or something else?
I did a 50% water change and my test results didn’t really change much… I am using the saltwater master test kitOh.
You need to do a big waterchange, and keep doing them until the tank can process ammonia.
Is there someone who can look after the fish for you.?
If they've been in there 2 weeks, your ammonia can't be very high at all (like in the hundredths).I have had the pair for over 2 weeks. I was told the fish would help with the cycle.
API?I did a 50% water change and my test results didn’t really change much… I am using the saltwater master test kit
The tank is 3 weeks old. I bought the pair of MochaVincis 1 week into starting the tank. They have been in there for 2 weeks now.If they've been in there 2 weeks, your ammonia can't be very high at all (like in the hundredths).
If they've survived this long the ammonia probably isn't that high. From the fish themselves and feeding
They have been doing excellent despite the high test readings. Should I still dose the tank with bacteria? It’s been 3 weeksIf they've survived this long the ammonia probably isn't that high.
I'd find a different LFS for future purchases.
They obviously don't care much about the welfare of the fish they sell.
