Hi so here is my Hollywood stunner chalice. Not sure how to take good pictures using my phones camera under the blue light but it’s the best I could get. The question I have is about the growth. It’s a circular chalice and the edges of the chalice tend to extend and shrink up. Is this normal? It droops on the side that’s not flush with the rock the center of the chalice is harder rather then the edges is more of a soft flesh

Never been told that it wasn’t a chalice. What do you believe it is then?
Chalice corals are a grouping of a few different corals. It does look like some kind of chalice but doesn't look like echinopora to me. Stunner is an echinopora.

Thanks for the information! I bought the chalice from a friend that was growing and selling corals. He told me that it was hollywood stunner. I always wondered why the chalice didn’t look like all the Stunners i would look up online. How can I get this coral identified?

take a good pic in whites or with filters on phone like your orange/yellow viewing glasses if you have em. They make filter kits for taking rad pics too. Polyplab has a great one. If you post a good pic , I am sure youll get an ID

Like nano said, just take a photo with white light or use an orange filter. Someone where will probably be able to give you an ID.
