I just wanted to share a method I use to be able to basically get most of the things I need to support my hobby for free. It's quicker and easier than fragging corals in my opinion. I breed guppies! yes, freshwater guppies. what I did is I bought a 30 gallon storage tote from walmart and filled it with water and java moss, put in a sponge filter. I went online and bought a trio of a fairly high end guppy breed. These things are prolific. I get anywhere from 50-80 fry a month. Once I have a batch of fry that are ready to be sold, and I sell them all for about $5 each to lfs and on fb marketplace. If I sell a decent amount, I can buy myself a coral or fish for basically free. I urge others to try this. Raising the fry is fairly east and the only thing you really have to worry about is the mother eating the fry.

Good job! For most, this hobby is a money sink only. It can be hard to find a way to make money in the hobby. Glad you found success with the humble guppy, nothing wrong with that, in my opinion :)

That’s a smart way of making money to fuel your feeding purchases! Well done!

Brine shrimp, flakes, pellets, bloodworms if I have any. I feed the fry freshly hatched brine shrimps, daphnia, crushed up flakes, sometimes live brine shrimp if I have them left over
Nice variety. I have frozen bbs, frozen blood worms, freeze dried blood worms, pellets, flake, freeze dried shrimp. I have some daphnia growing in a tank, I was thinking of culturing then specifically so I could have some on hand live food. How do you culture yours?
