Sorry - I do not mean to seem like I'm picking on your posts :) I am not.

Yes, reduced risk when purchasing directly from Biota.
Also yes to QT - but read Biota's guidelines. I personally would not use chemical treatment or medication on captive bred, raised, fish due to their size. I would, and have, placed them in dedicated observation systems. I feel that is a compromise.

Its all good. I don't medicate anything. But if I did I would medicate everything that was added with no exceptions. I used to medicate but stopped several years ago.

I sort of liken it to a simple question I ask two different ways. Would buy a damsel and place it directly in your display if you had a Potters Wrasse or say a Clarion Angel? Conversely, would you buy the same Clarion Angel and place it directly in your display?

I won't add any fish directly to my display without an observation period. While I don't buy expensive fish I do have fish that have been with me 8-9 years and that means more to me than the cost.
I do a minimum 45 day observation and into the display they go if there are no signs of disease or parasites. I only buy fish I can observe in person or have the lfs order for me with the understanding I want to observe the fish before bringing them home. EDIT: the fish still go into my observation tank.
Happy reefing

Yeah, without a doubt I think I understand your method. I was more talking out loud as I hit reply. My questions on would you was more generic or to those that don't. Apologies if it seemed like I was questioning you.
