How long do you flush your new RO membrane?

Just curious about the replacement reason. Was the flow through it getting too slow?
Is it possible for an RO membrane to fail because someone didn’t change it for 3 years?

The main problem is typically fouling if it with calcium carbonate, slowing flow through it. I never replaced mine, with each of two ro/di systems lasting for about 10 years. Such scale buildup will depend on your tap water properties.

TDS came out after DI was at 3. The membrane is about 1.5 years old and the DI filter is little over 2 months. Sure I could have just replace DI but what the heck I replaced the RO.

Now it’s much faster 21 vs 13.5 mins to make 1.3g
