So I've had a crocea clam for over 2 years first housed in a 20 and moved to a 10 gallon nano at least a year ago if not more. He's always seemed very happy. I saw a couple absolutely beautiful clams for sale today for the equivalent of about $13 each and was thinking about getting another (of I can choose between the 2!). I'd put all 2 or 3 in my 20 gallon and continue the feeding and maintenance regimen that's been successful for over 2 years with my Crocea I currently have. I know they suck up plenty of all and calcium for growth but would 3 be too many in a 20? They're about 3"-3.5". Here are pics...

My only concern is the fact that I'll be gone for a good bit of August and my tanksitter doesn't know much...he's taken care of my tanks before and I have an ATO, chiller, and the light is programmed so he just needs to add phyto daily but is it too risky?

They don't require phyto or feeding, just feed the fish and you'll be okay. Keep it stable and give them plenty of light like you're doing now and let 'em grow.

The one I have now has never been any trouble in regards to keeping him happy...
