How many Watts is the sun???

uhhhh......i think its like 1000w per square meter of LAND if the sun is directly over head at the equator, with no clouds or shade etc.

if you are on a boat, or out on a mountain top of snow it seems brighter/hotter due to the reflection of rays off the water and/or snow.

I looked for par rating in different areas of the ocean and found some interesting reads. Some of it seemed to contradict other articles, but interestig nonetheless.

Julian SPrungReeef Aquararium VOL 2 First chapter first coupld pages I belive has a bunch of differant readings from differnt parts of the world and it is done in LUX or LUmens not par.

Sun PAR is between 1400 and 2000.
Our lighting systems can get as high as 1000 PAR, but average between 250-550 PAR.
