Looked around for a thread like this and couldnt fine one. Doing an iodine dip for soft coral, how many drops of iodine for the dip solution?

Wait for more answers but I've done the following on several zoas and never had a problem:
- mix to "light tea" color
- dip for 8-10 minutes
*that was always just with dark iodine from the pharmacy

Maybe also state your purpose for iodine dip so others can comment on if it makes sense or maybe better options. *I don't use iodine for just new coral general dip

Iodine dip for something like a bacterial infection on toadstool sounds like a good plan to me.
Lugols seems pretty common (although not what I happen use).
...see what others recommend

*I dipped (((method I mentioned))) a tiny toadstool that looked pretty bad after ending up laying in the sand in the back of my tank and forgotten for awhile -- it bounced back and looks good now but not sure how much of that was due to the dip vs just getting back into light and flow.

Gotcha, ive seen several videos and threads where it said to do the tea method, ill do that and reply in a couple days with how it worked

As mentioned above you just add enough iodine so the water is a light tea color. Iodine dip is very gentle on coral so you can’t really overdo it. For softies I have dipped for up to 24 hours in a tank with a heater and flow. That isn’t needed so if I were you I would dip anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour. You may want to do this more than once a few days apart. Again, this type of dip is quite gentle so is low risk.

Small update, looks like a decent part of it actually did split off, still did the dip anyways and it already kinda looks better, but now i have another coral frag to mess around with. Ill do another update in the future if i have to do another dip.
