How much water do you change out when doing a water change? Also do you take time to warm the water up to the tanks temp and do you mix your water in a day in advance?

omg this was perfect timing. i had a 30g barrel filling with water and forgot all about it tell you posted mimic. if you wouldnt of posted i would have water all over the flow right now

i try and do a 20 to 30 gallon water change once a week. i alway have extra heaters plugged in warming my ro/di water and i usually dont mix tell right before i am about to change my water out

there's a reason for everything. glad I could help ya out!

Tro---what the heck? how explain. what size tank

15 percent on a 60 cube every week. Sometimes I do get lazy and its two weeks between changes. If it is I will change out an extra 5 gallons or so.

I have a 55 gal barrel of saltwater I keep mixed up. Before I do a water change I toss a pump in & aerate it overnight then fill my water jugs & put a heater in the 5 gal jug & heat it. I do a 5 gal change once a week on my 29 gal Bio Cube & 10 gals every 2 or 3 weeks on my 45 gal.

5G ( 12% ) per week on my 40Br. My tank is softy dominated, no skimmer, and I use a lot of carbon, and some gfo. So far so good :)

Lets see I have A 120 with 40 gallon sump and do about 20 gallons A month. maybe 6 weeks sometimes pending on how the corals are looking and how much the skimmer is putting out.

10% weekly temp matched to the tank and mixed for about a week

Saturday is typically water change day

1. Change water
2. Refill barrel
3. Add salt
4. Let mix and Heat until the next Saturday
