Hey everyone. After much searching I couldn't find the correct size tanks I need. So iv decided to build my own acrylic tanks. For reference I attached a picture. They will be going on each side of the fireplace ontop of the dog kennels. I will be welding a 1in frame in the kennels to strengthen them up.
The tanks are going to be 30Lx20Wx27H.
So approximately 70gal each.
I found the company that's going to supply the acrylic and got a quote for 1/2in thick. But after reading more about it I'm leaning more towards 3/4 due to the height of the tanks.
I have come to terms with the 1/2 quote so I'm not excited about possibly going up to 3/4. Iv seen alot of people posting about their tanks bowing so I definitely want to avoid that as much as possible. I will be doing a euro and cross brace on them.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

My 45Gal 36x24x12 Rimless is 3/4”
My 90Gal 48x24x18 is 1/2” but is Eurobraced

I was told rimless will always be thicker. Height also will increase thickness

My 90Gal is longer and wider than what you’re planning but you also have 9” more height which is what I was told is the major factor when it comes to acrylic thickness.

I’d go with 3/4” minimum. Personally, I’d just find someone to build it for me. Both my tanks were custom
