Hi All

Im in the hobby for quite some time but have no clue how to install this acropora echinata icefire.

It has Skin All Around and is as big as a hand with fingers.

Should I remove Skin/Cut it at the main Stem and superglue to my Rockwork?

Should I leave all the skin intakt? But how to install it then?

Thanks a lot
Marco

read the manual. then make sure you have the proper power tools to assemble and install it. Should take about 1.5 hours of labor, maybe less with another set of hands. Youtube is your friend.

or just glue it to a piece of rock.

You could do as you suggest and glue it. Depending on whether you want it to be a permanent resident, you could also just wedge it on a rock and allow it to calcify itself on the rock over a couple weeks and ba-da-boom.

you are a funny guy, would love to hear you speak german

but thanks for the advice anyway … remove the skin at the base bevorw glueing, right? Is that recommended for acropora echinata icefire? they tend to be very difficult
no need to do anything other than get that base glued to a rock. You can use putty to build a base for it and then glue it to the putty for extra strong hold, and then glue the putty base to a rock. Dont sweat it, it'll be fine.

You’re over thinking it. Just glue it. Easy. Cyano acrylate glue

Well maybe I overthougt it a bit but wanted to be sure that i only remove minimal tissue.

So I drilled a tiny little hole in the rock and coral base the same diameter as an old ceramic shaft from a pump. voila :-)

Hope it does well. I am a bit afraid from wild echinata icefires. If anybody has a growing one that does well, show some pictures :-)

Im honestly very much flashed by how strong this wild australian Icefire Echinata grows - I fragged it and the frags built new foots and even the stem I cut and cut frags from survived and builds new polyps. Aleays struggled with them in the past.

Does anyone have equal success with them??
