I love woodwork, but that sump and install is so dang pretty, it's a shame to cover it up!Since your tank appears to be up against a wall, you can build a 3-sided wood structure that slides into place and is self-supporting. You can put doors on it for routinely going in and out, or slide it away if you need to really work under the tank. I have one like this for my 75g corner tank and really, really regret that my 150g tanks have standard stands (one totally wood and one wood wrap, but not removable). See pix below.
Thanks. The sump was made by Lifereef and fits perfectly into that space. I did some customizing when moving it into the new stand (Bean Animal vs. previous Durso), added Apex etc. My wife would not tolerate an open bottom in her breakfast room, though.I love woodwork, but that sump and install is so dang pretty, it's a shame to cover it up!
