I recently got an amazing orange branching hammer, it’s a aquacultured but originally from Australia

It has the absolute largest single head I’ve seen on a hammer coral. It’s legit would be confused with a wall hammer, it’s about 2.5-3ins across

I haven’t seen its mouths to count, I don’t want to annoy it too much, it’s stressed from travel.

Wanted to share and see if others also have these thick large branching hammers !

Nice! :) I see branching Euphyillia species periodicly split into three polyps instead of two and they look like a "wall" species for a while during the process. That would be my guess what you are seeing.

I wonder if that’s what will happen !

I would love if it stayed pretty thick for a head even if it grew slow because it seems so cool.

Didn’t think they split more than in half !

Splitting into two new polyps is typical. My guess is, depending on growth and lighting and available space around it are variables thaat might dictate the occurance of splitting into three heads instead of two.

My money says that you'll have 3 heads on that hammer in the near future.
I’ll update if they do split into 2 or 3 heads

Don’t think it’s happening that soon tho

But if I get 3 heads that would be awesome
