So far there have only been 2 reviews on BRS for the new Hydra 32’s and both say something about a “driver fault”. Anyone know if this is an issue with all of them or just a couple one off problems?

Asking because I am thinking about getting two of them.
Yes mine did it , I just got mine 4-17-2020

Mine is flashing the red/teal lights. I took the cover off and couldn't find any wires/pins that are loose. Do I have to take off the motherboard as well?

It’s kind of hard to tell that it’s loose but the mother board basically needs to be pressed back in. It won’t feel loose.

I found it. It is not the wires, but the pins under the motherboard. The red/teal is gone now. Now it is asking me to update to the latest firmware. Any idea how to do it without connecting to Bluetooth?

Only way I know of is to connect to the Bluetooth. It has to download the update so I doubt there is any other way.

I’ve had the same issue. MyAI sent a new motherboard which I installed, made sure all the pins were clicked into place, and now a week later I’m having the same problem again. The light stays on and does not respond to the app at all. I have to disconnect and reconnect the light for it to go back on the schedule I have set. MyAI customer service has been pretty bad so far - slow and have me the same advice even though it didn’t work. So frustrating - would love to hear if anyone else has had this issue and whether you were able to fix it.

You need a star screw head similar to the ones for decking. Remove the 4 screws and then press the board til its seated.

I bought two new 32s in December 2024 from SaltwaterAquarium.com and they had the same issue. Annoying but easy to fix. Amazing that it’s still an issue since this thread is four years old.
