Hydra TwentySix HD Purchase...

I just purchased a new "Hydra TwentySix HD" for my 29Gallon tank, will it be too much ? Or should i of went with the "Prime HD" ? ?

Okay awesome thanks because it has 2 circle things With led lights compared to the prime with 1 circle with led lights. Thought it wouldn't cover enough with 1 so I got the one with 2

My suggestion would be to have it at a minimum of 12 inches off the water. If the coverage is not enough raise the light. How are you going to hang the light?

With 80º lenses (which are essentially 90º lenses with a conservative rating) you can hang your light based on the height being equal to the radius of coverage.

2 x [mounting height] = [coverage diameter]

29 gallon standard glass tank?

Or 29 gallon cube?

If it's a cube, that should mean it's about 20" on each side.

That gives you an "ideal" mounting height of:

[coverage diameter] / 2 = [mounting height]

...or in your case...

20" / 2 = 10" mounting height

Make sense?

(It's not quite as simple with lenses other than 90º/80º.)

It's not a bio cube It's glass cube about 2 feet each side , using a clamp
