...internet connection. It's the control. Also, I have been unable to connect the power strip that came with the starter pack.

Any advice?

I could search it, but then wouldn't get the giveaway entry along with the answer.

Well... My power strip continuously (4-5 times daily) loses connection but the controller doesn't.

When I couldn't connect my power strip originally it was because I mistyped my WiFi password. Seems silly, but did you verify that is correct?

I'd contact coralvue, quite helpful over there.

that's the next step. thanks, i've heard good things elsewhere about their support.
Are you running a mesh network?
don't know what that is.
HYDROS requires a 2.4Ghz network. I keep having issues with mine losing connectivity, but I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. This link might help.

I might be in the minority with this but I'd love them to add an ethernet port. I try to hardwire as much as possible.

not my internet, but the landlady's. I don't know if it's 5 or 2.4Ghz. I'm pondering just getting my own, for security and privacy reasons.

The controller will only connect to 2.4ghz so if you got the controller connected it at least has a 2.4 channel. So when you try an pair the wifi strip make sure the device with the app installed you are using is on the same channel you want the wifi strip on and that also has to be the same channel the controller is on or the pairing sequence will fail.

My issue similar to that ended up being my router. I replaced it last December and I have not had any issues with the wifi devices communicating.

Yeah, I figure it's my router.

Yeah, I figure it's my router.
When I changed it I setup the new one with the same names and passwords so I could just unplug the old one hook the nee one up and power it up and have everything connect right up without having to change any credentials in the devices that connect using wifi. I have over 40 devices so I would have to change it on a lot of devices if I didn't setup the new one the same as the old one was setup.

when I had Hydros controllers and had disconnect issues on my main network. I always bought a cheap little $20 router and setup its own hydros network for it to only be on it and I never lost a connection after that

anything that is 5 is ALSO 2.4... My entire house is Wifi-6e mixed network. Same SSID for both the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. Crappy ISP modem/router combos are terrible at this, but good "aftermarket" brands (Linksys, Netgear, Asus, TP-Link, etc) are good and handling connections/traffic. My control X10, both power strips, and the auto-feeder are all running fine and never lose connection unless we have a power outage or pop the breaker for the circuit the wifi is on. Wireless connectivity issues are generally issues of either proximity or interference. I would start there... If you can't get things to stay connected solidly, I would pick up a router, run an ethernet cable from the modem/router your landlady has to your space, and plug in a router and configure it for AP mode in your space... This will eliminate proximity. After you've eliminated proximity, finding a good clear channel is the next step to combat interference, there are plenty of phone apps that will give you an idea of which channels have the least interference in your area...

My connection used to drop multiple times a day until I set up a dedicated 2.4 network. Haven’t lost connection a single time now.

Thanks all. Looks like target has a budget (maybe cheap) router that I think I'll try. If that fails I may have the landlady set up a dedicated 2.4 channel for things.

Last resort will be hitting my own Internet like a functional adult. But that is too be avoided at all costs, the functional adult part.

You can always use a wired access point setup with just a 2.4ghz channel that has a different name and password from the original. Just make sure it has a wired connection to the main router. Some routers can also be setup as an access point if you do get one. Just make sure you can setup separate or 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz channel names or at least have the ability to turn off 5 ghz if you cannot assign separate names.

You can run an ethernet cable from your router to an access point plugged in next to your Hydros devices. This will essentially give you the best possible WiFi situation and closest thing to being hardwired in. Don’t think an ethernet port is anywhere in their plans.
