Its actually a tricolor ...I'm still acclimating it too my new kessils A360 we...I'm hopping it colors up some more ..

well... my bta's bubble after feeding shrimp, they bubble in the morning when the blue's come on, they bubble more with light flow. the next day completely different story. so i think it is not algae pellets... I can have half the tank bubbled... other half no bubbles... depend what mood your bta's are in that moment of the day.. never ending mystery of the universe

I think that PH is the difference personally higher it is more prevelant the bubble tips...

I curious to know if this will work too. I have had a BTA for a little more than a month and it has split but no bubbles at all.

I have algae pellets so I will give it a try as well.

This was my rose bubble from my last tank.

Big fat bubbles always. Totally different than my current one.

I meant what brand of pellets. I have NLS. I'm gonna try it for sure.

Years ago in our 75g reef, we had a paired clowns (Jack & Jill) the female alway's,..feed their BTA anenome first, no matter the food. Flake, Larrys frozen foods, algae pellets, lettace, nori, and most meaty foods.

She sometimes would worry us, with the thought that she did not eat enough, but she looked very healthy. We ended up calling her,.... "tubby".

Also, sharing for fun. Just took this a min ago - used an orange screen to filter out the blue wash b/c the sun is setting to a crisp dark blue in the reef right now. Without it you don't get to see the greens and yellows I actually see outside the camera/phone lens!

I think they bubble more so to cover more area for catching food and light

Very interesting. When I had a BTA for 5+ years, it never did bubble. It looked great at the LFS, but after I brought it home the bubbles slowly shrank to nothing, and it really never had bubble tips again. It grew huge, had great color and great tentacle extension, hosted a maroon clown, ate all kinds of stuff, and split several times, but never again had bubble tips. Neither did its offspring.
Very curious. I still wonder if it's a case of interaction with other types of corals that causes this to happen.
