Hello everyone,

I’m facing some issues with low water pressure/production. It’s been almost a week of trying to fill my tank, and I’m losing my mind—I need a second opinion on this.

So… the area where I live recently had some water pipe work done (a council job, no idea what it was for), and since then, my main water pressure has dropped by half. Even with a booster pump, I’m only getting 4–5 drops per second. I don’t see the council fixing this issue, even after contacting them.

Now, my questions…

My RODI system is currently 75 GPD. I recently replaced everything with Chinese parts from Temu—membrane and filters (the exact same parts would cost triple at my local fish store). Could lower-quality parts significantly affect performance in this case? I don’t live in America, so no BRS for me. :(

Would downsizing to a 50 GPD system help produce more water with lower pressure? (If that even makes sense.)

Both of the two LFS that sell RODI water around here are about 60 km away.

Any other ideas would be welcome!

How many psi ?
Rusty or dark cartridges?

Brand new cartridges, waiting for a new in line gauge. Before I could make rodi even without booster pump and now is definitely half of it so I’ll guess 20 psi before pump, but the pump doesn’t seem to bring up more than 10psi (brand new pump as well)

Try a stronger better booster pump, I had low pressure around 30 PSI, I then installed an AquaticLife smart Buddie Booster Pump, and now it jumps right up to 100 PSI when I turn it on, and it’s good for systems 50 to 100 GPD.

the booster pump should be able to do better than that.

Your water inlet (the connection of the RO hose to your house plumbing) may be clogged with "sediment from the repair".
Brainstorm here...

You’re right… I was overthinking everything but maybe I just need a stronger pump. Thanks

Flow restrictor problem, manual ?
I did notice was clogged yesterday but managed to free it up, I’m starting to think is the actual booster pump not being strong enough but I really appreciate your ideas, I was losing my mind

So just a quick update, got rid of my original rodi system and got a new one, what a difference! Even with a lower water pressure than before I’m making way more water with this system. Just posting this in case helps someone in the future.

This is the unit I’ve bought from Kraken Corals UK

Uh huh, booster pumps all the way. Idk why they dont just include booster pumps in the kits. No house or even commercial applications of water are ever at 80psi. Unless one was to hook up to a hydrant...(bad idea incoming)[]
