Hello

I have 3 Oceanrevive T-247's and 2 Viparspectras that I have to mount into a canopy.
I have no idea on how to get this done.
This is for my new build.
Please help.

This is the underside of the canopy

This is how I need the lights to mount

Is going to be T-247 then Viparspectra then T-247 then Viparspectra then the last T-247.

Both the T-247's and the Viparspectras mount the same way with hanging wires that screw into the posts on the lights.

Im going for blanket LED coverage.

I just need help figuring out how to get this done.

@Flippers4pups

I like that idea. The problem I have is the bolts on the lights are threaded.
They do not have holes in them. If they did, life would be much easier.

I'm racking my brain to figure out a way to do this.

The canopy is birchwood.
It has hinges to flip open for access to the tank.

I have a strip of wood I could screw eyelets into but I can't figure a way to get the lights on a pole because the mounting bolts are threaded instead of having holes.

Take the light apart. Can the "bolts" be removed?

Threaded eyelets in the holes with a washer and nut on inside, very shallow. Outside another washer and nut.

Take a nut and thread it on the eyelet, then washer. Put the eyelet into the hole. Then a washer and then a nut. Tighten the nuts to the metal plate of the fixture. Repeat for all holes.

Now you can use some chain to hang.

Or...

I can take the wire that screws into the bolt to lowes and see if I can find a nut of the same thread pattern.
If I can, then maybe I can use hanging wire wrapped around the post and held in place with the nut.

Thoughts?

I used them as standoffs but the options are endless once you turn the stud into something you can screw into.

These ideas are pointing me in a direction but I would like other ideas as well.

I know multiple people have faced this exact problem and have come up with creative ways of mounting the lights.

I agree. Seeing other options is a good thing and can be a learning experience. The main thing is that they are secure and stable, no matter how they are hung.

My order says I got 10 of these for 1.33 each

316 Stainless Steel Coupling Nut

Metric Super-Corrosion-Resistant 316 Stainless Steel Coupling Nuts

Made from 316 stainless steel, these coupling have excellent resistance to chemicals and salt water. Also known as extension nuts, use them to connect and extend threaded rods. They may be mildly magnetic.

I drilled the holes in the pipes myself and purchased M6 bolts at Lowes.
The whole thing looked like this

I just thought of something.
I completely understand how to get the eyelets bolted into the wood but how do you get the rod in the eyelets?
My canopy is solid on the sides. Yours looks solid too.
