Recently purchased one and when putting the filters in stage 3 I disconnected the lines to take housing away from the unit. I’m pretty sure everything was reconnected correctly because the lines were already cut to size. But if anyone has this unit can you send a picture as best you can showing where the lines go would be appreciated.

Again unit is the icecap 150gpd

There website and installation video didn’t really show how the lines go
 
Probably easier and faster if you posted photos of the lines you disconnected and how you have them currently reconnected.

Basically I took off the tubes going to the filters and reconnected them this way
 
Something looks weird there.. Can you take an end shot of the two RO housings on the right side in your photo? Would be nice to see there those two lines going down from the auto shut off are going and the opposite side where that metal thing is...

So what looks odd to me: Looks like the RO output from membrane one is going into membrane two and the RO is going out the waste flush valve assembly? I could be mixing up the two lines on the RO housings though which would explain why things look backwards from this angle. Why are there two lines coming into the source line going into the auto shut off?

Thanks for the additional pictures. Looks like the RO/Waste lines are backwards. RO water on the end of the RO housing should be the center connection, Waste water the side connection. I think you need to reverse these two lines on each RO housing.

I would also disconnect the line where it goes into the DI housing and test to make sure you are getting the RO water which should read 4-6ppm TDS. If you run the waste water into the DI it will eat your resin up in an hour or two...

You fixed it!

Only run two membranes plumbed in series like that if you have soft, or softened feedwater. Your vendor will sell these systems to anyone regardless of feedwater quality, but don't be fooled by that.

Are the two elbow fittings in your permeate ports check valves? Each permeate line needs a check valve before they join at the tee.

Thanks for the help the unit is right of the box besides me messing with the hoses so if the manufacturer added check valves then they are but I haven’t added any also my tds was reading about 18, I had the resin removed and I’m also getting 50 psi will a booster pump fix this issue before I add the resin back in the DI stage.

50psi is kinda low. TDS will depend on many things. What is the tds of your source water?
If I am not mistaken a pressure booster will improve your rejection. Russ from @Buckeye Hydro can help you with what you need.

So your 18ppm out is higher than it should be even if you had 96% rejection membranes but they really should be 98% which would give you at best around 7ppm RO. I don't use a booster pump but my understanding is higher pressure will help the membranes rejection rate. Not sure about running two RO in series though with 340tds water. Likely cause scale on the 2nd membrane?

Your T fitting where the RO lines go to the auto shut off valve. Can you see through it? You may need some check valves there as Russ suggests.
The other T is just running to the pressure gauge it looks like so that should be fine.
 
IF your ASOV works (stops the flow of reject water when you stop the flow of purified water), then you DO have at least one check valve and it is working. The ASOV won't work w/o it.

18 ppm from 340 ppm is a 95% rejection rate.

Check your vendors spec's regarding the rejection rate of the membranes they use and what brand they use. You'll get a bit less than the factory spec even when the membranes are new because you have two membranes plumbed in series. The incoming water to the second membrane maybe around 400 ppm or higher. People with high feedwater TDS like you would benefit from NOT using two membranes plumbed in series. I suspect you also have high hardness - another reason not to use two membranes plumbed in series.

50 psi is low - probably too low. Again - check the specs on your membranes. Are they spec'ed at 50 psi or at 60 or 65 psi? If you tell me the brand I can tell you the factory spec.
 
The membranes are Dow Filmtec 100gpd website says they have a 96-98% rejection rate the whole unit from manufacturer specs says I should have at least 65 -80 psi
 
Those are good membranes - the same brand we stock.

Use those membranes w/o the DI for a few hours (technically, 6 to 24 hrs of run time) and see if the rejection improves.

Yes - you'd benefit from a booster pump. 200 gpd worth of membrane is a bit much for a standard Aquatec 8800, so I'd point you towards our high capacity booster pump and bigger transformer

Ideally you'd have a TDS probe after each of your two membranes, before the permeate tubes join up. This way you'd be able to tell if it is just one of the membranes not working well.

Thank you for the advice. A follow up question how much does the water temp affect filtration I’m seeing how some specs give ideal water temp, is that something you can change or do you just sort of accept what your getting from the tap
 
Two common factors have the most significant effect on RO production: water temperature and water pressure. You can play around with the calculator on our website to see the effects of both on the speed of production from a 50, 75, or 100 gpd Filmtec. Or were you referring more to the effect on rejection?
