Ich or velvet? Which an I fighting?

Well guys which one am I dealing with? No spots on other fish yet but this guys been In the tank a week and looks pretty covered to me. Didn’t see anything on him in observation which is weird.

If you really think you have a disease then get a trap from your lfs and quarantine that big beautiful fish. I've seen sand stick to the skin on my foxface and freaked out a time or two, but never had any diseased fish thank God. Sorry can't give you any help otherwise.

It could be ich, mucus plugs or detritus stuck to it. Nasos have pretty "dry" skin, so I doubt it is the latter.

It isn't velvet.

One way to tell mucus plugs from ich, is that ich more often will be seen on the soft portions of the fins, where mucus plugs are most often confined to the body. Ich spots will also come and go day to day and are generally smaller.

Observational quarantine is pretty risky, and if done, needs to be for at least 40 days.

Is this fish eating well? We've had a slew of recent reports of blonde nasos, especially large ones, not doing well in people's tanks.

Expanding pictures, this looks to be ich. If so, ich will increase both in numbers and location on fish each 24 hours. If this is the case, You will need to place fish in Quarantine tank and treat with Coppersafe or Copper Power at therapeutic level 2.25 for a FULL 30 days (do not interrupt this 30 day period) monitored with a Hanna Brand copper test kit- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone. All other fish in with it should also be removed as they have also been exposed to the parasites and placed in quarantine tank.
The display tank will have to be kept fishless (FALLOW) for 6-8 weeks to assure the existing parasites go through their life cycle without a host fish and die off. Inverts and coral can remain in the display (not treatment) tank during fallow period.
A quarantine tank can be as simple as a tank from a second hand store, a Rubbermaid type tub or a starter kit from Walmart which most of the needed essentials.

I expanded the Pics and I don't see the as Ich or Velvet. Looks like a combination of Floating Particles and or something on the Glass. If he is acting normal and eating, I would monitor his behavior for now.

Do you use ozone with your skimmer? I heard that will zap the ick or decrease the risk of it happening. I do the uv sterilizer bc my wife says it's toxic to breath it. Good luck
