You can keep coral in a Rubbermaid tote. I have done so as a coral QT.

If you are going to use copper in DT. I would move all LR and Sand to coral QT. This will prevent it from absorbing copper as well as dealing with it leaching copper later.

I never recommend to use copper in DT. Can create problems later. I would set up two fish QTs if possible to separate the fish that aren't getting along instead of treating DT. It's up to you ultimately.
