Can someone help me ID this beauty? I need to know how to make him happy and healthy :) he’s a purplish color with a green center.

Caulastraea/Astraeosmilia = candy canes

They are the same coral after all
Y'all actually helped me with another candy cane I have that I bought from Corals Anonymous. I couldn’t figure out why one was so much bigger and fluffier than the other, even though they were the same neon green :face-with-hand-over-mouth: I’m in my first year and I’m obsessed with my tank :star-struck: but still soaking up as much education as I can. Thanks again.

The purple one is Caulastrea furcata; the teal one is Astraeosmilia curvata

yes, it is Caulastrea. It's fine to place next to other Caulastrea of different colors.

Both of those are Astraeosmilia curvata. Caulastrea (furcata) are the purple/pinwheel ones.

Do you think I can place him closer to the green candy canes to the left of him?
From what I know, neither Caulastrea nor Astraeosmilia are particularly aggressive, so you should be able to place them close to each other.
