I have the ext 170 im working on.
I will replace the screen cover it came with though.
I will be running 2 sea sweeps so nothing will be mounted to the tanks walls. This will be all the flow I need with 2 Tunze 6255's attatched to the sweeps.
Nice setup. Keep us posted.

Is Citrus Heights that bad that you need a 2x4 barricade mount?

Not sure what a barricade mount is? If its for the outside garage door it came with the house. Just moved 2 months ago into the house.

I am considering upgrading to the 112 EXT next year. It is hard to light that space without hanging or the lights looking cluttered. At the moment I am thinking of 2 XR30 Pros hanging front to back, about 16" apart. It will be an acro dominant tank.

Do you have any picture of your sump setup?
Not much to see. I didn’t connect the ATO yet. And just have a sheet of floss in to catch junk. Mixed just the salt then drained all the salt water back into totes till I get the live rock. Then will add the protective milk crate under the rock, too off with salt water from totes and turn the pumps on. Will add the sand later whe n I see what crawls off the rocks for easy removal. Extra salt water will be the water change.

That is nice you gave the extra width that you can pack the Reservior and stuff in there. I am not sure you can pack all that in the standard

Looks like a nice tank-I came very close to ordering this instead of my Cade 1200 but it would stick out too far into the room. Seems like these are really well-built tanks.

that's what I really liked about it. the depth that sticks out which is more pronounced in the EXT. The supplied pump is pretty quiet. The SIcce Syncra 5.0 for the skimmer I hear mostly because of the vibration of it touching the sump. Haven't tried placing foam yet to see if that quiets it.

What’s your next steps?

Live rock, and are you doing their sand too? Or store bought?

Will you transfer from your other tank to here or is that tbd?

Just going with figi pink sand. Would have put it in now to let settle but I’d like to see any potential pests before they crawl into the sand.

How long does the 10g ATO reservoir last?
no idea. I'm sure the 5 gal wouldn't be long enough. IM 15gal seemed too big to get in the stand but may have been better. would like to get about 10 days. dependent on your environmental conditions. my biocube 32 I hardly lost much between water changes but now the heater kicked on and thats causing maybe a 1/2-1 C a day.

I received my TBS rock today. 100 pounds. One box was crushed and water drained out so all the boxes were soaked. But all looks good. Some really nice looking rocks with good holes. I just piled it all in with big spaces between for now. But should be able to make some nice caves and hiding spots with this. Can take better pictures tomorrow.
