Sure does work. You can see it wasn’t hitting 7.8 before.

I drilled a couple more 1/8” holes before the water collector. Might reduce efficiency but it’s worthwhile to find a balance otherwise it only takes a couple days to bubble in the collector and lines!

Stirred up the sand and cleaned the glass. Time to time I go extra and use razor blades followed by magic eraser to get the buildup that nothing else seems to get.

These are normally out of stock so snagged one from biota. Delivered yesterday. Seems healthy.

Also few shots of two other toadstools that looked happy today. Lot more in there than these though.

I removed two 5g buckets of sand from the tank, must have been 100lb. Despite having sand sifters and manually stirring it was still a cesspool. Left a light sand bed.

What is interesting is despite no other changes the reefmat useable drastically dropped. I removed the sand on peak of “week3” and it was using 40-50” a day. This past week around 18” or less! Add due to the amount of crud coming out of the sandbed daily. Same feeding, dosing, lights. Was pretty amazing. Also I have the media basket packed with purigen. I removed it to see if there was a change in usage, if the small pore size of the bags blocked flow, but it only varied an inch or so a day so imo that’s a good trade off as the purigen site discolors pulling organics out.

I also am having to frag corals almost weekly. I got tired of taking to lfs so now they just get tossed. Same thing happened with my acro tanks, thankfully softies just need scissors and now a saw!

Thanks! It’s pretty good until the goby stirs up the sand! I still am sad I didn’t rinse the sand well or bought a pre washed type.

So after all this drama with the tank, my wife happened to go downstairs and noticed a small leak in the sump. The bulkhead cover cracked.

Had no choice but to drain the sump. Since I get the hint universe I decided to finally shut it all down. Sold the tank, all reefing gear (lights, apex, reefmat, skimmer, co2), livestock to my friend for $500. After I just bought $130 of co2 media haha.

Here is the rascal that did me in.

Yes I could install a new bulkhead but I just don’t have it in me at this point. Too many issues and accidents.

I will, someday, set up a 10 or 15g AIO but for now all the stuff is gone or going soon.

Figured would add some gorgs. I had many years ago and they were great, in my waterbox they were dino magnets and I gave them away. I hope they work out here. I am trying again since I have the big lifeguard UV plumbed in the return and don’t see Dino’s in the DT at all.

Hey by any chance do you remember where you ordered your gorgs from? This was an awesome tank I hope you’re back in some capacity now. Thanks!
