Im a newbie! Heres my progress

Hey all, I am a new hobbyist :) decided to make a progress thread. Hopefully you can all help me along the way. Heres my tank as it is now.

Im off to get some sand and salt today, any helpfull tips for this beginner :)

Went to three stores here in Perth, Australia. Couldn't find aquarium salt or argonite sand. Any aussies out there know of good online stores?

Thanks guys, Ron it will definately be a biotope tank. But still undecided on exactly what I want in there. Had a big weekend which in turn has postponed my tank a little :(

Hey guys, not sure if anyone is following my progress still. The progress has been slow and steady thats for sure.

I am in the process of cycling my tank and establishing the bacterial community, although I am still trying to source some proper "live rock".

Any tips for helping the cycling process would be much appreciated.

Thanks Rev, how long should it take for my ammonia levels to minimize? It is low at the moment but not zero and am a bit worries I might get a big spike now i have 3 fish in there
