I’d say go sand bottom on the 15g and bare bottom for the pico tanks. I actually have that lifeguard 3.8 setup as a softy frag tank. I use a kessil a80 Tuna Blue for the lightning.

Just curious why sand for 15g? Just want to weigh all ideas and options

i'm running sand bottom on the IM15 setup. Too soon to tell, but you can go either way. I like the sand in it. Also, I am running the Kessil A80 on it which is a lot less powerful than others are going. I recorded some PAR on it and i'll end up posting those in my build thread at some point.

How high up is your A80 on the pico? I'm at 4" above the surface and that light is pushing decently high PAR to the top levels of my aquascape. It drops off mid/lower. But again, i have to be at 4" from surface.

On my pico i have the a80 5 inches above the surface of the water. From light to bottom of tank is roughly 12-13 inches. The issue with the IM 10g/15g is that they are very deep for their size. I would imagine the A80 isnt the ideal light for the IM 15g but im sure it will work out just fine.

I also have a IM 10g and i run an AI prime about 5 inches from the surface of the water.

That’s actually a nicrew 30w on the pico, It’s like directly above the surface of the water I think I will bring it higher when I start putting livestock in.

I’m going to put a noopsyche 60w on the 15 IM

Beautiful tank also!

I think it’ll look better with sand.
I've been digging the encrusting of the bottom with corals I've been seeing on YouTube. So I may try it out, and if I don't like it, I can always add sand.

Shout out to @tydeck sold me this nicrew 30w with controller for 40 shipped! Will use this until my noopysche 60w arrives than I will put the 30w on the 3.8 pico
