Hi All,

I ordered a 5 chamber RO DI system but it won’t be here until late next week. Is store bought RO ok to fill the initial tank with? I’ve read some various opinions so was wondering if there is anything concrete. I know I should just be patient but it kills me the tank is sitting there empty.

Thanks in advance!

Nate

If it's a local fish store, and they say it's zero tds water, or saltwater mixed with ro/di water, then I might get antsy with a empty tank and spend the extra$ for it.
I probably wouldn't trust those water machines that grocery stores have.

Good call! There are several around here so I will call and see.

Thanks!

Patience usually helps avoid headaches, who wants to start off chasing algae issues.

LFS can provide water, once in a great while I will grab some from various LFS, but when I do, I check that water w/ a TDS meter.
This right here can tell you a lot about that LFS, results can really vary.
