Installing a uv sterilizer

I bought a jebao pu-55 sterilizer and was hoping to mount it sideways along the top area of my stand but after doing some research I’ve came across mixed answers as to what’s wrong and what’s right or ok as far as mounting orientation. Do these need to be mounted vertically? Or could I mount it horizontally with the inlets and outlets pointed straight out?

Oh and I guess my other question would be what’s the best way to test a pump to figure out the gph it’s putting out? I thought I saw some kind of calculations to use on here somewhere but I can’t find the thread anymore

Looking on line, it seems the instructions indicate horizontal installation of Jebao sterilizers.

IF you put a hose on the outflow side and run the pump to see how long it takes to fill a 5 gallon bucket (The famous Bucket Test!) you can get a good idea of the flow. Remember that if you are raising or lowering the head pressure with the actual set up you should adjust the level of the test bucket to reflect this to improve flow extimate.
