I am planning on going to my LFS to pick up my first fish a one spot do face for my 150g mixed reef. With this fish being a little price being around $100, does anyone have any recommendations to assure best chances of survival? Do not worry the tank has been cycled for a few months already and reading 0 ammonia.

What else are you planning on putting in the tank? Foxface is a hardy fish generally, but do you have other smaller, more shy fish you plan on adding?

As others have said, Qt for sure. Have lots of rock work because they are very shy/skidish.

Quarantine before you put in into a nice functioning display tank.

Last thing you want is to introduce a disease and then have to leave the tank fallow for 3 months.

especially chromis and anthias... :T

I lost 5 anthias in QT because or URO, and you can never get rid of that once your DT has it.

If you're choosing the fish in person, make sure it looks healthy
good color, swims normally, doesn't look starved to the brink of death, etc

Going off the ledge: Would you be interested in a drop off aquarium?
