**** Inverts Killed My BPC Flamethrower

I just need to vent!!!!

So, I posted a little thread about my inverts (particularly my hermits crabs) nipping at my chalices. I removed all of them with hopes that my chalices will be safe. Turns out my pretty little BPC frag didn't make it but the other chalice colonies did...I am just so sad :cry::cry::cry: I waited years to obtain this and now back to the drawing board...this ***** sucks!!!

Ahhh that sucks! Hope you don't wait as long to obtain another frag. Thats why I don't keep hermits in the DT.

That is the main reason why I don't keep Hermits in my tank. They are scavengers, and take advantage of corals
if they are hungry.
Anyways, sorry to hear about you bpcft, mine has almost died 3 times in the last 4 months from "sweeper" tentacles, too much light/flow. It's the size of a tiny booger now, and coming back surprisingly. Is there anything left to save???

+1 i got me a rainbow lobo growing back after it came in pretty much dead. only the mouth was left. but now almost half of it has grown back.

they are very surprising......my pink ******* died all the way till you couldnt even see any flesh at all even with a magnifying glass ....i left the it in my system and after about 2 months it started comming back.....now it was about close to 30 eyes.....it took about 2 years to get there....

i have had this acan corpse for 6 months or so i just never removed the frag plug and low and behold there is 5 baby's on it today....1smile1

I have a hollywood stunner that got so stressed it turned completely skeletal white and now its eyes have turned back to green and flesh is growing around them, dont lose hope!

Sorry to hear about your loss. Hermits don't kill or attack actual corals but pick the frag discs clean of algae and other junk, which in effect is beneficial to the frags in the long run. I try to keep my nicer frags on a rack away from scavengers and snails but every now and then pick up a smaller one and let him do his job on my frag rack. They are also opportunity eaters and will swarm corals at night when feeding. Another reason I keep my nicer chalices away from their little claws.

I had a purple plate that was solid white, all skeleton. Got in an order of Reef Chili to try out, so I targeted the plate with it, and after a few days the thing started to show signs of life. The whole plate grew back with two mouths this time. The fine particulate food is what did it. Any rescue corals that I get are fed with the Chili, and nearly all of them recover very quickly. Some are pretty bad.
