"This is what we will show @ Macna September this year, sales start November. Some just announce something for years. We do it. Details very soon"

This was posted in the GHL Owners group :)

This is going in my system 110% as soon as possible.... I am genuinely excited about this and it had a date!
;Drool;Drool;Drool;Drool

Did they say what tests it will be capable of initially? Very excited since I recently booked my reservations for MACNA.

Couple questions:
- Can I use this as a standalone system? I know I need the dosing pump system, but that is fine. Just don't want to have to buy a controller.
- Can I output the data it collects or do I have to view it in a proprietary app?

I'm guessing this uses ion probes to measure the different elements.
-How often do they need to be calibrated?
-How long do they last?
-What are the replacement costs? I've been looking at ionic probes for NO3 and they carry a hefty price tag. Hanna has a NO3-N Selective Ion Probe that costs a chunk of change, not including the actual recording device.

I would imagine you have to use the controller.

The PTC2 looks very easy to DIY. Inline heater a few peltiers and an inkbird controller. Done!

I may just have to do this even though I don't need cooling.

I've used both the Apex and the Profilux. While I prefer the Profilux it does have it's drawbacks. I can see valid reasons why people would prefer either system. I also think they push each other to be better, which benefits everyone. I hope the Trident and KH Director along with the ION Director are all successful products.

It would be stand alone through the dosing pump master. You would have to view it in the app or via the myghl website.

Yeah, just buy a couple 12V peltier coolers, titanium tubing cold plate, and some 12V PWM fans and you are ready to go. No need to inkbird, get yourself an RPi and write a simple python code and you are good to go. And like that I have another project. Oh well. I got plenty PWM outputs on my aquarium control board. Just need to finish building that.

But for heat. Omg no more heaters in the tank failing and busting ohhhh. I love the heat idea of it.

So similar to the KH Director and how it works with the dosing pump master.

Viewing thru the website would be ok, I think. I could maybe come up with a script to parse the data and extract it so I can store the data elsewhere, i.e. my google spreadsheet.

Its more than just that, with the peltiers, you can vary the amount of heating and cooling. So think PID control. I don't supply full power to heat 1 deg. I supply only a fraction of the power based on my delta. The greater the delta, the more I supply. But peltiers have their limit as well.

Here, can buy 10 of the 12V 60W ones on Amazon for $26.50.

You could also use a cold plate with 316SS tubing.

that was my thought but I don't do whole system controllers. An STC1000 would control the heat and cooling.

Now if only they would feed the fish frozen food and empty the skimmer cup
Avast Marine skimmate locker.

Saves an hour or 2 of work every week. I clean my skimmer cup every other week now instead of two times a week.

my nutrients are a roller coaster, starts to bottom out I feed more and shut off the skimmer. If someone can nail this down (P&N) all that might change
