Well guy I wasnt actually planning on competing in this but since the time falls right inline with a little 2.5 gallon im putting together I will give it a shot!

The tank is built using a good amount of stuff I already had laying around.

This is going to be something thats low maint., Just large weekly water changes and clean the glass. Nothing special.

I will update as time goes on.

Equipment

2.5 standard glass tank. (Originally purchased to use as an ATO resovoir but never got around to it.)
DIY Led lighting using extra LEDs from my 65 gallon build a while back, Powered by spare cell phone chargers
Aquatech 5-15 power filter from walmart.
Extra heater I had laying around.

Enjoy!

Painted the back

Built a small heatsink out of some extra aluminim channel I had in the garage.

Filled it with water and sand.

Then I had a buddy whos an acrylic fabricator build me a "canopy" to hold the light, keep the light "spillover" in and just look awesome!

And this is how the tank site today as of 5/27/2014

I look forward to updating you guys once we can start adding!

I plan on building a nice little stand for this guy also. I know not many people will put time and effort into a 2.5 gallon but I think itll be worth it!

My favorite tank is a topless 6 gallon edge I just threw together. I wish I had put more time into it. Rock on man.

Glad to have you in the contest and the acrylic canopy looks AWESOME! Looking forward to seeing the stand...

Welcome to the Nano in 90!

Wow,nice tank!I love the lighting and the canopy!

That acrylic hood looks really great, do you have more pictures of it? The insides and how is it attached to your tank? Thanks.
