Is it even possible?

Anyone ever have a clown trigger in there reef tank with lots of sps and lps? What are the probabilities if fed often he would be a model citizen ? Just wondering if I should give it a go, or there's zero chance.

The real threat from triggers in a reef tank would be against inverts.. nearly all triggers are notorious for going after snails/crabs/shrimp. It'll depend on the individual fish whether or not it feels like picking at polyped corals... hit or miss on that note

Better to add the trigger after to corals so it doesn't associate new additives with feeding time

Best Fish-Jake is correct, most inverts will not survive one.

If you're not set on the clown, I've read the blue jaw is one of the better behaved of the bunch, and many reefers successfully keep them.

Ya I agree, maybe down the road I will see what happens. I've had all kinds of triggers for the last 30 years just never tried a Clown in a reef. I do currently have a blue jaw and niger, who are indeed completely reef safe.

Clowns, as previously mentioned, are invert eating machines. They also don't get along very well with other fish, especially when they get larger. I'd stick with the Blue Throat and keep an eye on the Niger, they can turn quickly as well. My wife loves our Blue Throat, have to keep the better half happy:)
