So I cycled my tank, parameters are good, I finally got the fish, and I have a black clown fish swimming up and down, and he’s eating fine but just swims really weird? Is he defective or sick...? Can I do anything to help him, I’ve already turned off the power head, that didn’t seem to help him. I have 2 other clownfish that are perfectly normal and swim just fine. Poor guy looks like he’s really struggling to swim straight.

Eating is a good sign. What species of clownfish? Some do swim a little weird. Pics? Videos?

No idea how to do videos so it’s on YouTube...

Honestly I got him from Petco and they just said he was a black clown fish and that is what it was labeled as.

Clownfish usually don't do well in groups of three unless you have a large tank where they can have some space. What size tank do you have?

It’s a 30 gallon tank. Thanks didn’t know that. Should they only be kept in even numbers? Because I was told you shouldn’t keep them by themselves.

That’s a black saddle clownfish

https://m.liveaquaria.com/product/3454/?pcatid=3454

I wouldn’t mix clown species except in large tanks and I wouldn’t keep 3, especially.

In a 30 gallon I’d sell the saddle if the others are Ocellaris varieties.

I think it's just stressed and hasn't found its spot but definitely watch for the other to picking on it clowns usually pair up and once those two pair the will pick on any others
