Clown fish the smaller male out of nowhere since this morning has appeared super super sick. He laid in their nest for a while, swimming slightly weird after that he became super aggressive and starting to attack his own reflection at the top of the tank, then after that, he became super slow and he started to just float around before darting around super quick repeated the cycle for a while before eventually what I now assume is dead. I tested for ammonia and there was no ammonia. He’s not an old clown fish at all. He’s probably under an inch. He seemed perfectly fine yesterday. IMG_4065.jpeg IMG_4064.jpeg IMG_4062.jpeg

I was thinking it might be ich too however there are no white spots on him at all or any other things that might be a symptom it could be possible that it was a velvet
Upon looking up velvet, I’m actually not sure his skin looks super clear and not dirty at all. I don’t know if I’m allowed to post a photo of him on here since he is dead though.

You are allowed to post pics because if you have any other fish in there and it is a disease of some type it could spread to other fish. Does it look like it has a super swollen belly or an indention of its head?

The lighting is a bit hard to see, and he has a bit of sand on him

In one of the videos he had some white things on his skin and I saw a lot of similar material floating around him. What that sand getting disturbed or something else? I've never seen that combination of behaviors on a clown. Poor little guy. Given how fast it happened I doubt it's ick. Hopefully one of the docs can help.

I don’t see anything on his skin other than the sand and the little dot on the side of his mouth. He also looks like he is pretty skinny. Was he eating before he died?

The behaviors you’re seeing are the fish in a moribund state.
Usually you’d notice white spots well in advance with ich, are the spots on the fish or is that the glass?
Velvet rarely shows spots (if it does, it is already too late) - rapid breathing and swimming into the flow are the classic symptoms.
Post mortem pics are fine, but usually don’t do much for diagnosis (other than ruling out physical damage).

A few questions to help:
How long have you had the fish? Was it quarantined?
What’s the full stocking? What’s the most recent addition and when?
Were there any other symptoms you noticed?
Have you checked your water parameters?

I’m assuming it was sand there’s always a lot of sediment in the water because of my goby. After I took him out, there were no visible spots, so I’m assuming it was sanded

He was eating he was fed frozen food every day in a good portion

What are all your fish? How often are you feeding? How large of portions are you feeding?

I have two clown fish both under an inch and a tiger go bee maybe 2 inches as well as a cardinal I just got I’ve been feeding them about half of a block of frozen food that my local fish store recommend they are a pretty well-known fish store in the area

Clown has heavy case of brooklynella and will need immediate treatment using ruby rally pro while safe best in a separate tank

I’ve had the fish for maybe two weeks. He was quarantined in the full two clown fish and a tiger goby with a cardinal I added today. My tank has no ammonia.

What are your nitrates? Phosphates?

What I would do is I would feed a quarter of a block in the morning and half a block at night. I don’t think starvation is the cause of death.
I would only start feeding this much once you get another fish. Doing half a block once a day is a good amount considering the amount of livestock you currently have
