Hi, just added 2 days ago my very first soft coral, parameters of water were good and the tank full cycled, we decided with my LFS to try to also add the coral, not Only the CUC and 2 Clonwfish, but now he is like this, while the other fishes are doing great.
He seemed to be good The first day, but as soon the light turned off e layed on his side like this, I read it could be adabting to the new tank and water chemistry, but he looks worse every day.
The Only parameter that change after adding everything is KH, went from 9 to 7.
What do you think about it? Is he dead or is going to recover?
Thanks a lot🙏🏻

In that image it's not dead. If the coral is not receiving moderate flow it will not expand or open it's polyps. Try higher flow.

Ok, it has not a direct flow to him, but indirect flow from 2 pumps, it makes micro movements due to the flow, is it enough or should i increase it?

Take a turkey baster and gently blow off the coral, help get that shedding off of it.

Does it appear white in person? It looks like it has lost color.

Hi, as soon as I get home i’ll try to. He definitely has lost a little bit of color, but it’s not white, is not the emerald green it was when it arrived, it’s more Brown now

Corals lose color or turn brown in low light, I think the light is a bit too low. What kind of lighting do you have ?

Right now I have a 9000w juwel day and a Juwel Nature, The LFS said they were ok to begin, but to buy some more serious lights asap (like radion 16 or Ai)

Sorry I'm not familiar with that light. If the leather keeps turning white then you might need that upgrade on the lights. Good luck.

Hi, this morning I noticed that a “tentacle” got up, tought it was a good sign, but when i stopped pump for feeding I noticed that 2 other are turning black from The tips and releasing something like “smoke” in the water, see the attached pics

Could be a bacterial infection. Have you tried dipping the coral?

Did it now, it lost the “black” parts leaving “white flesh” visible, Despite all, when I moved it, it was still very turgid, It didn’t wobble around and stayed firmly anchored in its spot.

Waters good?
That’s a lot of death in a short period.
I’d retest it.

I’d cut off a piece of the good flesh and rubber band that to a rock.

Very hard to kill that one,

These are the tests results:
Ph8.5
Po4 0.1
No2 0
No3 10
Nh3/4 0
Kh7
Mg 1250
Ca 425

I have to say this was ur very first coral and it had a very bad way into the tank (my gf wanted to place him and she did whitout gloves and she hit everything she could hit with the coral’s body), and we still don’t have the correct lights (just bought them seeing how much he was suffering) I wouldn’t be surprised he died from this things…
