is this a christmas worm?

I have a large monti I am going to cut up for our club to split. My bandsaw while cuttoing it so I had to wait.

Last night I noticed a small hole that looked like a claw sticking out. Tonight I came home and it has come out further amd it looks like a christmas worm.

Any idea?
