My red sea is about a year and a half old. I noticed this today.

That definitely does not look good. What model do you have?

Yes, that is seam failure. Mind you, it's not complete failure but a complete failure is inevitable. How long do you have until complete failure is anyone's guess.

I strongly recommend an immediate alternate tank or temporary set up until you can get the tank repaired or replaced.

I have a small tank I can put the fish and snail in but what do I do with all my live rock?

Cheap storage bins from home depot or Lowe's with a powerhead and heater will work. These are like $25.

rubbermaid tub, brute can , heavy duty totes...

Ok thank you. What has been everyone's experience with getting a replacement. I can't believe how much money I spent for this to happen!

That really stinks. Sorry you are going through this. Hopefully Red Sea makes good on this

I can't believe even their smaller tanks are having seam failures. I bought a 500 peninsula used and I'm glad I never set it up and just sold it for my own peace of mind.

Its actually becoming really common with certain Red Sea tanks, the G2 series seem to be a bit better. If you are still within warranty they will typically come through and replace the tank but that seam does not look very far off from complete failure. I would try to find an alternative asap. If you can buy a tank to hold all your livestock. It could be tomorrow or 6 months down the road. No one will know

I'm already working on getting everything out..no need to push my luck. No response from Red Sea yet. Luckily I was just restarting. Only 3 fish and clean up crew in it so putting them in a 20 long temporarily and water and rock into a trash can.

Do they typically replace the entire system or just the tank itself?

If you’re around South Carolina, I have a 100 gal tub you can use or you can stop by tractor supply and buy one for around $100.
