Is this strange behavior for my clown and 13.5 EVO Tank?

Last week I switch out the rock on top and pick up the rocks to see what is underneath. But last night, I noticed one of the 2 clowns more the lower back right corner and just hover. This morning, I saw the other clown come and stay near him. I then used a picker up stick and move him to other side. Later he move back to the location.

I just check them and both up in upper right corner, mouths were moving and one move down.

I did find two hector's goby's dead in lower right side mand remove them

This morning, I remove skimmer and clean motor

I also have Reef Code B and coming today Reef Code A and wonder if it will help.

Tonight I should have the tops finish for 60 gallon and planned to move or get new Clowns for it.

Something seams to be wrong with 13.5, I did removed Chocolate Chip starfish which I was able to give back to store and purchased new Turbo Snails. Starfish was kiling snails and such.

Concern about fish, but I found Nitrite is 0.75 which likely issue.
I may move clowns over to 60 gallon

No Ammionoia only Nitrite! The Clowns seam to be heavy breathing with mouths open. One is fine and nice in areea - the other one went and hide in new tank. Did a good water change and it lower sanity and a little bit of nitrite in 13.5

60 Gallon water is little low from water take out - so fish will not jump out till tonight when I put top on it.

Not really likely in saltwater. Nitrite is not an issue like it is in freshwater.
How is the gas exchange in the tank? Sounds more like oxygen deprivation.

I'm sorry you lost some of your fish and I hope you can figure out the cause to prevent future issues :)

Sounds like you had an ammonia spike from moving stuff.

Sometimes builds up a bit in low flow areas, then released into the column when sand disturbed.
