It was this big... Now its this big...

Posting only to document. This could be a treatment for bjd. Specifically in gonis.
This goni presented with a circular spot the size of a quarter with bjd. I left it alone to see what would happen for around 5 days. The spot never really grew but it was def bjd. I had never seen bjd in a goni and have had this particular peice for around 3 years.
The night I decided to treat it the bjd had spread and was covering an area about the size of a half dollar.
I used a turkey baster to clean anything loose from the coral.
I then pulled it out in a Tupperware to gently scrub with a tooth brush.
I applied neosporin to it and let it sit on there for 5 mins.
I then blew it off with a turkey baster and let the coral continue to set in the Tupperware for an additional 5 mins.
Rinsed the coral and put it back in the tank.
24 hours later no additional bjd and the polyps that were showing signs are now starting to extend again.
Unfortunately I have no good before images.
In the pics the entire area is covered with neosporin had bjd.

What made you think to use it?
I don't have any antibiotics and I've found them to be less effective lately. So as a reefer thinking about how we use sidewalk salt, pest killer (bayer), flea medicine, stump remover, etc it was time to look for an alternative that was cheap and easy to find. I had this on hand, it's an antibacterial cream, so I figured worst case it does nothing and I frag the coral to try to save some of it.

I live by the you never know until you try mentality. We shall see of it works.

We used to have a field rat problem at the shop. We did everything to contain food sources and seal the building. They persisted, eating wires and plastic packages. At one point, they got into the ibuprofen, neosporin, dielectric grease, benadryl, hand sanitizer- everything. It started to feel like we were enriching them. Strengthening them and sharpening skills as the obstacles got more difficult..

My Phyto seems to settle in the corners and I have to frequently shake the bottles but the liquid is dark and doesn't smell bad. In your opinion, is it because I'm using square bottles instead of round or do I maybe just need to turn the flow up some more?

Def because they are square. The only issue is have with mine is that you have to be sure to clean the spouts well when cutting it because that's always where it seems bacterial issues start.

I'll start looking for some 32 oz round bottles to switch to. Since I'm staying "small scale" and trying to go with 4 varieties I'm avoiding gallons so I don't over produce? I may upgrade once I get a good pod population growing though.
