Looks like spirobids. Not harmful, but can be regulated with less floating food for them to snag.Anyone know what all of those white dots are on the rock in the last picture? (They are raised)
I had a bunch of those a few months ago. Never found out what they were but they’re all gone now so I dunno.Anyone know what all of those white dots are on the rock in the last picture? (They are raised)

spirobids and spionid so close I can never get them right the first time.
Thanks guys! I’ll try to reduce feeding some.I had a bunch of those a few months ago. Never found out what they were but they’re all gone now so I dunno.
There is no guarantee. As they may be equivalent to the chinese black box in providing PUR "photosynthetic usable radiation". However, if anything. They will probably look more aesthetically pleasing. I can't even say they will. They are in an interesting location now, because of the way I have my light setup. Once I get the Noopysche, I guarantee you they will take off.
I mean they will get more light, even if the PAR is the same. The tank will look better aesthetically just because I’ll be able to get light all around the tank, and not just in the center. There is no guarantee. PAR and PUR are different.I mean they will get more light, even if the PAR is the same. The tank will look better aesthetically just because I’ll be able to get light all around the tank, and not just in the center.
As you can see, the colony is under the brace that’s holding the lights up:
(Ignore the feet;Hilarious;Stinkyfeet)
True I just found out not too long ago that corals only use up to 6-7 hours of light anything beyond that is for our viewing pleasure. ! I have my lights on 50% acclimating for my shroom and blasto for a week so they can settle inPAR and PUR are different.
You'll have to look up the difference. There is a lot of information on both. Just because they will get more light, doesn't mean they can use it.
Oh man! I'm more excited for you to get the NPs than I am for myself!I mean they will get more light, even if the PAR is the same. The tank will look better aesthetically just because I’ll be able to get light all around the tank, and not just in the center.

Where did you read that 6-7 hours of light thing ? Goes against everything I’ve read and heard.True I just found out not too long ago that corals only use up to 6-7 hours of light anything beyond that is for our viewing pleasure. ! I have read 5. But I refuse to argue as everything keeps changing all the time.Where did you read that 6-7 hours of light thing ? Goes against everything I’ve read and heard.
I don’t even know how to put my prime in acclimation mode. Lol
Interesting. I’m starting to think anything goes lolI have read 5. But I refuse to argue as everything keeps changing all the time.
Well, the 5 hours is where ramp up time comes in. That like high noon where they begin the photosynthesis part of the day. The brightest portion of the day. 5 hours of max light is all they can utilize. After 5 hours it means nothing.Interesting. I’m starting to think anything goes lol
