Im doing 10-20% biweekly right now and thats only because idk whats happening with my trace elements until I send in testing. I'm only using water changes to help control Nitrates honestly. With your bioload right now that should be plenty efficient for what your doing as long as your not overfeeding and elevating nutrients too much.I’m trying to figure out a good water change schedule either 10% weekly or 20% bi weekly
Sweet ! Yes I feed daily the fish and then I’ll feed reef roids they day before my water change. I’m gonna test again when I get home today to see if anything has changedIm doing 10-20% biweekly right now and thats only because idk whats happening with my trace elements until I send in testing. Its amazing what a total reset does! 100% puts you back in control and basicly allows tank to catch up and mature. It’s kinda exciting to see how easy it was to restart this tank
I do have a micron sock ! This thing works wonders. If I can just get my hands on some gsp my back wall will look amazing in a few months but if my Xenia fill in I’ll use those instead there a great way of sucking nutrients upIts amazing what a total reset does! 100% puts you back in control and basicly allows tank to catch up and mature.
Did you say if you had a 5 micron sock?
Its extremely helpful when there is no need for water change. Its nice to have to siphon out the detritus and filter into sump or bucket and just reuse it.
Yes test everyday for a few weeks and see what things are doing just so you know what tank is doing.
Your 100% doing things correct from the gate. Cant wait to see tank in a few months man!
I love my hermits now. My shrooms actually lift skirt to give them better access to cleaning there shoes haha. Definetely doesn't bother them keeping feet cleanYes I love watching them at night pretty cool what they do . My crabs also pick through my zoas
I love this thread. Your seeing everything ive seen from deep clean.Crabs have a bad name unfortunately haha they kill snails and such but mine all get along as fas as I can tell look how awesome he is
Also did I mention coralline algae has exploded in see all sorts of it on my rocks and shells
Yeah I got rid of all the bottles haha there in a box in the basement I only kept iodine haha ! No more adding anything into the tankI love this thread. Your seeing everything ive seen from deep clean.
You skipped 0 steps
Thoroughly followed directions and cleaning protocol and going to reap all the rewards for that.
Yessir I have literally watch coraline grow over night when lights came on.
Your getting rid of the bad and in with the good in its place.
Just keep doing what your doing and keep balance in check.
Don't get complacent. Monitor params, tidy up with sock and change water when you need to.
Done deal now.
IMO one of the hard things to learn is to know when a certain coral is happy.Question for you guys the new favias I got it’s kinda hard to tell if there happy besides the one that obviously looks bad
IMO one of the hard things to learn is to know when a certain coral is happy.
Favia polyps should look full and fluffy. When stressed you can see the skeleton ridges beneath the tissue.
here is a very happy Favia. Full, puffed up and feeding tentacles out.
