I really like mine. Will be adding a second on the other side of the tank at some point.

Just bought 2 of the gen 3 CP-40's from fish street. There was nothing on the site that said they didn't ship to the US. Hopefully they come in quickly so I can give them a shot. My kids just killed one of my MP-40's and I've been wanting to try something new.

I've been strongly considering the cp-40. I want an mp-40 but too expensive. What are your impressions of it?

I was using one CP40 in my tank for the last 25 days and so far its good and working perfectly. I have cleaned it also last weekend and the power is decent for my tank and having good circulation. I am missing the night mode in it like RW models, Other than that it full fills your expectation.

I just put two in my 150 cube. Started at 80% on gyre, but had to turn down the flow to about 50% (Though my trigger was stroking out when he couldn't stay still to be pet). They made a bit of noise in the beginning, but have since settled down and are moving a ton of water. Time will tell, but I'm hoping they work out. They seem to be quieter and moving more water than the two MP40's I had in there before - reef crest @ 100%.

I have a few cp25s and love them. Just ordered some 40s. As long as you don't expect them to last forever, you will be happy with them.

I just ordered CP-40 and I will have it on next week. It's so cheap comparing to Gyre that if I have to buy a new one every 1-2 years I don't care. That only means, that I will have a new version time to time. I hope it has enough water flow to move the surface water of my 395g tank .

Update 10 Feb 17,

Got once problem with the rubber bushing which holds the rotor and motor. After cleaning it has to be fitted correctly, if not it causes damage to the rubber bushing which is more like a square in the motor connecting side of the rotor. Once it got damagd it made noise other than usual, which brought the notice to me.
Then I have contacted the ebay supplier which whom i have got and no response from them. Then I have contacted Jecod customer care by email and explained them the problem with photos, it's hard to believe they have sent 50 nos of this bushing for free, since I am in India I have to bare the courier that's very less due to less weight. Other than that all is fine.
I like the random mode in CP 40 which is missing in Gyre XF models. I am having also one gyre XF150 and when it comes to noise, for me both are same.
