went to the lfs today and rented a par meter. and wow, my numbers are a lot lower than i thought they would be. i have a 20 gallon long with a single kessil a160we mounted 9" off the water. i do not have much surface movement so the numbers were not all over the place. even at 100 percent intensity my max par was 125 at the top of the rocks. i have 2 red cap montis and 2 medusa montis that were given to me about 3 weeks ago. i have been maxing out at 45% intensity for two hours a day. i am thinking about starting the lamp at 9am and letting it ramp up to 100% by 3pm and than having it ramp down to 0% by 9pm. i am using the kessil controller to do this. not sure if this is the correct way to do it. thanks for any help with a schedule or advise.

I suggest running max intensity for 4-6 hours ramping up to it then back down for a 12 photo period .
