Kessil AP9X?

My tank is 8' x 4' x 20". Would 4 be good, not enough, or overkill?

I think 4 is good alone for softies and lps....add a couple of your favorite strips like reefbrite or orphek and that adds a whole new dimension.

We have 2 right now over our 4' x 8' lagoon with 2 reefbrite 72" strips and until we add sps it will be more than enough for softies, meats and all of our torches.

I just don't see what constitutes a $900 price tag.

Its a kessil. They are top of the line products. Amazing spread without hot spot issues, perfect color blending, long lasting, wide blue spectrum, and no way to mess up the colors (i.e. kessil logic).

I understand the AP9X to be a bit more rugged in the reliability department compared to the a360x. Either way, you just cannot beat the kessil appearance. They have some functional setbacks, but no light looks as good.

I think hanging several of their can type lights looks much better than the AP9X.

Maybe a mix with some of the 500s if not worried about the cost lol
