Hey everyone,
I'm in the early planning stages of setting up a new tank after about a 15-year break. It will be my 5th tank. Lots of new equipment in the last 15 years, specifically the LED options and DC pumps, but the fundamentals are still there with chemistry and consistent water parameters. My last set-up was a mixed reef mostly softies with total volume between display, frag and refugium of about 250. I got my first salt-water tank in the late 80s, maybe 88 or 89. It was a 60-gallon tank that I kept and later turned into a frag tank then another change into refugium over the years. This time I'm starting with a custom tank of 260-300 so it will end up probably closer to 400 total volume. I will probably focus more on SPS this time around with few softies whereas it was the opposite in my previous tanks. I'm waiting for the show in Anaheim coming up to talk to vendors and looking for a custom tank provider. Cheers.
