I am midway in my similar gut/rebuild of a sunblaze fixture. One thing that cracked me up is that the two bulb fixtures had a small stone slab for weight balance. That thing alone has to be around 1lb. Not sure if your fixture had the same.

Mine had 2 ballasts. My guess for the counter weight is so when the fixture is hanging it's flat. Mine looks twisted because the weight is offset. In only looks twisted if I bump on accident though

Just wanted to make a note also that the fixture has been up about 2 months now, the fans on my leds don't run as much as I thought they would. I rarely hear them on, they still do work but the middle of the fixture stays nice and cool which is exactly what I wanted
