Sometime in the next 3-4 months, my wife has invited me to add a 3rd tank to the house in her studio/office. I think I have a good idea of what I'd like to do with this one, but it will likely be a more challenging setup than my other two systems, both Red Sea Reefers and pretty plug and play.

For the tank and stand I am thinking:
Innovative Marine - 50 Fusion Lagoon with corresponding stand. I like the design of the tank and the plug and play aspects, but not totally in love with the all in one concept. They make a skimmer and reactor that fit in the back chamber, but I don't think they will be adequate for my stocking plans.

Additional equipment:
- On the fence about trying to add a sump, since I don't know how accommodating their stands are and may be able to do what I am hoping to with a closed loop. If I go with a sump, then it's really just a matter to plumbing a drain (not super hot on the idea of drilling a bulkhead through the tank) and basic setup.
- If I decide to go closed loop for the accessories it seems a lot more complicated. I will likely need the following:
- Reef Octopus Classic 150ext Recirculating Skimmer - Want to oversize the skimmer
- Carbon, GFO and possibly Biopellet Reactors that will plumb well into a sumpless setup, not sure if I'd use BRS, Skimz or Vertex for this type of setup. Also trying to work out the logistics of plumbing feed and return manifolds off the closed loop.
- Chiller - Probably use my AquaEuro 1/13 that's hooked up to one of my quarantine tanks now, so again more manifolds.
- Pump for the above listed: Something DC, submersible maybe Reef Octopus or the new Neptune pump when it comes out. Basically place that in one of the AIO chamber areas, pumping water out of the overflow area, info the aforementioned equipment and returning into separate chamber in the AIO overflow area. Return from the chambers to the display would likely just be the stock pump unless it doesn't seem like it's doing the job.
- Tank flow will likely be a single vortech or neptune wav.

My questions:
- Does this sound viable?
- If I use a single pump for the skimmer feed, 3 media reactors and a chiller, how do I go about calculating the size requirements? Does it even seem realistic?
- Connecting media reactors to a manifolds on a closed loop, do I need to make any special considerations on routing the water through them? Also to make sure the reactors don't clog the whole loop.
- Any considerations I need to make in what order the equipment is attached to the closed loop?

As far as stocking, I am thinking about a Saddle Carpet Anemone (once the tank is mature enough), a pair of maroon clowns and a trio of fuzzy dwarf lions (1m, 2f). Maybe a few soft corals and fish that won't get eaten by the nem or lions or beat to death by the maroon clowns.

- Think a shallow 50 gallon cube would be okay for a haddoni?

If anyone has pictures or diagrams of similar closed loop plumbing, I'd love to see some examples.

Thanks!

My limited 2 cents is I've heard the IM stands are flimsy and the ghost skimmer is subpar
I figured the skimmer wouldn't do the job, so I can either add a sump or a recirculating skimmer. Good to know about their stands. Maybe I am better off getting something custom made to similar specs.
